netINS Scholarship

 

Want $1000 for college? All you have to do is follow these simple rules.

Scholarship eligibility

  • Applicant must be a resident of Iowa or attend and graduate from an Iowa High School
  • Applicant must be citizen or permanent resident of the United States or one of its official territories. Applicant must graduate or have graduated from high school between January 1, 2008 and July 1, 2008
  • Applicant must live in the trade area of an Independent Telephone Company participating in the netINS Scholarship
  • Applicant must be accepted for admission and enrolled in an Iowa college or university

Scholarship rules

  • Winners will be notified in writing the week of May 5, 2008. Submissions will be accepted between March 12 and April 11
  • Entry Deadline is April 11, 2008
  • Up to five $1000 cash scholarships will be awarded
  • All entries must be submitted to scholarship@netins.net and may be submitted via a web-based form here. Applicants must write a 300 word essay on "The Effects of Telecommunications on the Family Dynamic."
  • Applicants must include name, mailing address, telephone number, email address, the name of their high school, the name of the college or university they are enrolled in and the name of the Independent Telephone Company serving their area. A web-based form is provided here. Relatives of those employed by the Independent Telephone Companies or Iowa Network Services are not eligible for this competition. Entries will be judged by a panel of impartial Independent Telephone Company staff, INS staff and Iowa educators
  • Decisions of the judges are final
