South Slope Cooperative Communications Announces Local Scholarship Winners

North Liberty, IA – (May 17, 2018) – South Slope Cooperative Communications Company is proud to announce five local scholarship winners.
Danielle Frey, a Prairie High School senior, won the first $6000 Iowa Communications Alliance Member Scholarship. She will be attending the University of Iowa, studying nursing. The mission of this scholarship is to assist students from rural areas across Iowa with financial assistance to pursue higher education and to stay in rural Iowa after graduation.

Cade Shramek, a Prairie High School senior, won a $2,500 Foundation for Rural Service scholarship. He will be attending Iowa State University, studying aerospace engineering. The FRS Scholarship Program awards one-time scholarships to students from across rural America for their first year of college, university or vocational-technical school.

Gracie Reckhemmer, a West High senior, won a $1000 scholarship from Aureon to attend Iowa State University. The Aureon Scholarship Program supports students pursuing careers in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM).

Marisa Bieschke, a Benton Community High School senior, won a $400 South Slope Scholarship in the Benton Dollars for Scholars program.

Lainey Grimm, a Clear Creek Amana senior, won a $250 South Slope Scholarship in the Clear Creek Amana Foundation program.
